I had an Alesis 8 channel mixing board with plastic/rubber side bumpers that had become sticky to the touch over the years. I had heard suggestions of applying Isopropyl Alcohol and scrubbing. I tried this but had no luck. They were easily removed, a total of 8 screws. I think tried a baking soda & water paste. I mixed about 2 parts baking soda with 1 part water to make a paste (a little thinner than toothpaste). I applied this with finger tips and let set for about 8-10 minutes. I then used my finger tips and a wet cloth to move the paste around, applying more water to thin the paste out. After a final rinse and dry they are no longer sticky! This was a good low energy effort to restore these to something pleasant to touch.
This would have been a bit more arduous if I had been unable to remove the bumpers from the sound mixer.
